I realize that maybe I've gone a bit overboard at times trying to give my little Vep a happy, healthy life. But I can't help it. She's such a sweet little rat, so full of life. It's hard to look into those beady little rat eyes and say, "maybe it's time to put you down." So the result is that I probably have the most examined, most operated on little rat outside of an animal testing lab. But hopefully, if people like me continue spending ridiculous amounts of money on their little ones, our knowledge of rat health will improve so that others can have happy, healthy little lives. In that spirit, I've decided to post images of the x-rays taken of my little Vep back in March. She's had unexplained respiratory problems for nearly eight months now and unfortunately, her x-rays were too ambiguous to make a definite diagnosis. Still, I find them interesting, so perhaps others will too.
