The Halloween party was a success, thank god. From glowing Snape posters to alien autopsies, our reputation for over-the-top decorations and generous amounts of food and booze remains safe for another year. Thanks to all those who came, and to those who visited in spirit by contributing gifts and good wishes. I’ll try to have some pictures and anecdotes up soon, but don’t expect to hear from me in the next few days. Sadly, for me the party’s aftermath includes my leaving the country tomorrow to go give a paper. Not the most convenient timing, but what can you do?
So much to do, so little time. I do have some Halloween pictures that will hopefully find their way online soon, as well as maybe a picture or two of rainy, rainy Vancouver where I spent most of last weekend. However, I’m still running in circles right now trying to get caught up on both work and sleep. Everyone and their mother seems to be coming down with something right now too, so I’m trying not to wear myself out too much. All that having been said, I realize that I should offer the few faithful readers out there something in the way of an exciting update or quality entertainment. Sooo…..
I offer you ZOMBIES!!!
Today a friend sent me a clip of her friends’ zombie music video! You see that zombie who falls through the front door? Yep, I know him! :-) While I’m not a big fan of death metal, I suspect their music video came out better than my zombie cameo in The Undeadening will…
Speaking of The Undeadening… this of course inspired me to try and hunt down some info about my zombie role, which I still know next to nothing about. But after some extensive internet searching, I finally found a link to the Evil Reign production company, and a clip from the movie! So at least I know I didn’t make the thing up, although I do wonder if The Undeadening will ever really see the light of day.
And last but not least, if you didn’t know that there was an Evil Dead Musical, now you do.
I know that I don’t post often enough as it is, but logging in to find the hundreds of messages of comment spam waiting to be deleted is hardly welcoming. I don’t understand it. Do people really ever click on the spam links and then buy the annoying products being advertised? If so, those people need to be shot. ARGH!
Anyway, I did not log back in to complain about spammers. Instead, I wanted to share with you the most disgusting and arguably obscene commercial ever. No, it’s not the now infamous Oozinator, but it’s something very much along those lines. I don’t know what people were thinking when they made this toy, let alone the commercial for it. But lo and behold that latest horribly disturbing authentic children’s toy ad, witnessed by mine own virgin eyes today whilst innocently watching Cartoon Network: The Love n’ Licks Puppy from Playmates. Watch the commercial if you dare!
