Speaking of Quentin Tarantino, there was a Kill Bill marathon on tv on Saturday night. Too bad it wasn't on earlier in the day for you, apparently. As proof that i am so, so hopelessly old, i fell asleep right in the middle of Kill Bill 2. So, take heart. At least you can stay up past midnight. Life holds great promise for you, grasshopper.

Regardless what you think about Castenada, in one of the books, he describes a "petty tyrant" (just like it sounds: someone to whom you're in thrall who makes your life miserable for their own reasons or for no reason at all) as being a useful thing to have in one's life. When you get to the point where you aren't shrinking from the tyrant but also aren't rising up & overthrowing them, you've won, changed & they cannot do anything to you. It's an interesting example of passive activity, wei wu wei, Epitician will, whatever, that tries to show that genuine loss is rare & usually self-created.

Of course, I prefer the Marcellus Wallace school of dealing with one's enemies. Either way, remember that living well is the best revenge & when you're off onto bigger & better things, they'll still be stuck as a petty, weak-minded manipulator who leeches off the ideas & skills of others and devoid of genuine interest. Lacking a real external connection, they've turned inward & churned out simulacra, but there's no substance, no gravitas & soon they'll be passed through, not like The Door to the Law, but more like the Gateless Gate - ephemeral & fleeting, you're already finished before you start because you're starting @ a higher point than they can ever reach.

Awww! Buck up, little cowgirl. Perhaps you ought to come to Vegas and visit me. My house is stress-less and quiet. Or go to Houston; shockingly I really liked it there. Or try heroin, I hear that really mellows you out.
